Yesterday Putin basically threatened the Western democracies with a new class of nuclear missiles.  China wages open economic warfare since decades, getting fully happy cooperation from American politicians and corporations. Threatening neighbors, supporting the nuclear ambitions of North Korea, now grabbing new territory by invasion, reverting to Maoism. New "Pearl Harbors" are possible, as are new "Hitler-Stalin Pacts", which already exists in the global Left-Islamic Alliance. The old Cold Warriors were correct, the world is not a safe or gentle place.  Freedom and Liberty are take a beating world-wide.

Human child-treatment and sexuality determine Character Structure, which is a better predictor of behavior than ideology, though the latter flows from the former. The old patterns of global geography also remain in play, determining invasion routes and patterns of chronic repeating totalitarianism versus relative freedom.  Santayana's dictum still holds: "Those who forget the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them."
