There is No such thing as a "Peaceful Islam"

Several central facts are typically censored out of most public discussions about Islam. Islam is much more than merely a "religion". It is also a political movement, an economic system, and a system of social controls over the lives of believers, including special regulations for bathroom and bedroom behavior. Most notably Islam has a codified view of women and non-believers as subordinate creatures, with restricted rights and status in society, similar to slaves. The Islamic system also extends to demand obedience of non-believers to its precepts, and also has a system of police and military to enforce those precepts and to spread its doctrines globally, which the believer views as superior to all other forms of belief and governance. "Islam" means "submission", and if you don't wish to submit, it has a rule-book indicating the punishments to be meted out, with many offenses and taboos demanding public whippings, chopping off hands or feet, or the death penalty by torturous stoning. Islam is therefore an entire system of governance, extending far beyond merely one's spiritual beliefs about God and the universe. The Koran and Hadiths are the rule-books, dating from the time of Muhammed, by which Islamic societies and peoples, and all living within its jurisdiction -- believers or not -- are subordinated to and governed by.

Mosques also are historically used for many functions outside of prayer services. They function as meeting places for political strategy, for organization of special "religious police", and as military headquarters, where weapons are stored. And the mullahs and imams take on the role of generals or Mafia-type neighborhood enforcers, meting out punishments to violators of Islamic legal codes. Mosques also are signs of conquest, much as we view the flag as identifying territory, Islam uses mosques to lay claim to territory, or as markers of great victories in battle. Ergo the push for a big "victory mosque" near to the destruction site of the Twin Towers, brought down on 911. Mosques have also been used as torture chambers for punishing or murdering dissenters or oppositionists. This was seen during the Iraq war, piles of bodies of men, women and children were heaped outside of the big mosque at Kerbala, where the butcher al-Sadr was holding court, massacring his enemies and their families. The extremist President of Turkey Erdogan said it best: "The mosques are our barracks, the domes our helmets, the minarets our bayonets and the faithful our soldiers." He also famously and very accurately stated "There is no 'radical' Islam. There is only Islam, nothing more."

All those wishing for a peaceful or moderate Islam ask for Muslims to go against the central preachings of Muhammed. ISIS, al-Qaeda, the Talibans, Boko Haram, they are the Pure Islam of Muhammed, not some "anomaly". Pure Islam is more like the Spanish Inquisition, except in one regard. The butchery of the Inquisition went against the central teachings of Christianity, against the Ten Commandments and Jesus. The butchery of Islam, however, is in full 100% agreement with the final and universally-accepted teachings of Muhammed, who was war-lord, mass-murderer, serial rapist, pedophile, liar, thief, and psychopath. He is considered to be the "ideal man" all good Muslims should strive to emulate. And the terrorists do that. The moderate Muslims do not. Islam also permits Muslims to lie about their intentions, when speaking to infidels, a codified practice known as "taqqiya". And therein lies a grave difficulty.

Islam has not had any kind of Reformation as yet, to provide for a more moderated Islamic system for its adherents to follow. Islam over nearly 1400 years of history has been the Inquisition on steroids, aiming to reconstitute the old Caliphate, which was broken apart only after WW1, by the Versailles agreements. Right now, authentic moderate Muslims are crushed down as betrayers of Islam, or as apostates, who are punished or killed by those in power.

For any society living under freedom and democracy to call Islam a mere "religion" is therefore a deadly suicidal error. It must be treated as a dangerous social, political and military movement, similar to Nazism or Communism. Such totalitarian ideologies seek to destroy existing societies and replace them with their own system and peoples, willing to commit mass-murder to accomplish their goals. They were, or are masters of propaganda lying. Surely there are many victims of Pure Islam whom the West should consider to shelter or help out, especially the non-believers who today are subjected to genocide by the followers of Muhammed. There are also some peaceful Muslims needing our help, especially the apostates, from whom every free society can benefit and learn from.

But there is no such thing as a "peaceful Islam".
