A Saharasian Massacre Site, c.3800 BCE
Warrior nomads attack a peaceful settlement? Mass murder. Head-chopping. Mutilations. Followed by the victors holding a happy feast on the conquered people's herd animals? Both murdered people and debris from the feast are heaped into the same pit, and the site is abandoned as the warriors move on to rape and pillage the next settlement. My book "Saharasia" contains a discussion on the widespread nature of such settlement ruins in the Syrian Desert, all of which were wiped away by the combined effects of drought and mass-invasions of warrior-nomads out of Arabia and Central Asia.

Burial clue to early urban strife
Only a fraction of the burial pit has been excavated
Archaeologists working in Syria have unearthed the remains of dozens of youths thought to have been killed in a fierce confrontation 6,000 years ago.
According to Science magazine, the celebrating victors may even have feasted on beef in the aftermath.
The findings come from northeastern Syria, near Tell Brak, one of the world's oldest known cities.
More than 30 years of continuous excavation have revealed the site's remarkable sophistication.
Studies by British and American archaeologists published in the journals Antiquity and Science suggest Tell Brak was a flourishing urban centre at the same time as better known early cities from southern Iraq.
The work also indicates that, unusually, the Syrian city grew from the outside-in, rather than the inside-out.
A third paper, due to be published in an upcoming edition of the journal Iraq, details the burials at Tell Majnuna, 0.5km from the main urban site at Tell Brak.
Two mass burial pits have been excavated at this site. The first has so far revealed the bones of 34 young to middle-aged adults. Thus far, only a small portion have been excavated.
"There could be hundreds and potentially thousands," said Augusta McMahon, an archaeologist at the University of Cambridge, UK.
Ancient forensics
At least two skulls show signs of injuries that could have caused death. The absence of feet and hand bones and the fact that many of the skulls apparently rolled off when they were tossed in the pit hints that they were left to decompose before burial.
A mass of pottery, mostly vessels for serving and eating, along with cow bones were also found lying on top of the skeletons.
The experts interpret this as evidence for a large feast, according to the news report in Science.
A second mass burial pit has been found about 12m away. At least 28 individuals have been uncovered from this location.

Comprehensive survey of published climate research reveals changing viewpoints
In 2004, history professor Naomi Oreskes performed a survey of research papers on climate change. Examining peer-reviewed papers published on the ISI Web of Science database from 1993 to 2003, she found a majority supported the "consensus view," defined as humans were having at least some effect on global climate change. Oreskes' work has been repeatedly cited, but as some of its data is now nearly 15 years old, its conclusions are becoming somewhat dated.
Medical researcher Dr. Klaus-Martin Schulte recently updated this research. Using the same database and search terms as Oreskes, he examined all papers published from 2004 to February 2007. The results have been submitted to the journal Energy and Environment, of which DailyTech has obtained a pre-publication copy. The figures are surprising.
Of 528 total papers on climate change, only 38 (7%) gave an explicit endorsement of the consensus. If one considers "implicit" endorsement (accepting the consensus without explicit statement), the figure rises to 45%. However, while only 32 papers (6%) reject the consensus outright, the largest category (48%) are neutral papers, refusing to either accept or reject the hypothesis. This is no "consensus."

Your friend apparently did not bother to review that weblink I provided, given his quick and off-the-cuff reaction. He strung together at least ten separate malicious falsehoods and dirty accusations, all in one short paragraph. I'd ask you to please yourself look at that website, and don't take his word for anything (nor mine either) -- just give it a complete review. Firstly, there is an entire section on WTC#7, the building which your friend says was "not hit"... at least, I think that's what he is saying. His language leaves much to be desired, but I assume he means, "He (the website author?) did not address why 3 towers fell but only two were hit by aircraft". In fact, the debunking website has a substantial amount of documentation on that very subject. See here:

This weblink on WTC#7 was not hidden; it is listed on the left side along with other topics, very easy to spot. So why would your friend ignore it, when sending you his email? Whatever his problem may be, the debunking911.com website provides a very cogent analysis of the collapse of WTC#7, with graphic images and movies from 9-11, showing that structure had tremendous damages which occurred as significant debris from one of the collapsing Twin Towers smashed into its side, creating severe fires, a large gash and structural damages. The firefighters struggled to contain those intense fires over many hours, finally backing off as the structure began to collapse. Today, however, we know the typical movies shown of this by the "Truther" disinformation squads are deliberate fraud, because they exclude critical seconds of the collapse sequence at the beginning, and never show photos of the intensive damages to the side and bottom parts of the structure facing the Twin Tower debris piles. Instead, the Truthers usually expose their fanaticism by claiming the Jewish landlord was behind some kind of deliberate "controlled demolition" which is then extended to include the claim that even the Twin Towers were brought down by "controlled demolition", and the jet aircraft dismissed as "drones" and such. It is a miserably insane and paranoid theory, overall. But the anti-Semitic canard about the Jewish landlord, lying at the core of their "theory", is also exposed and debunked at the debunking911.com website. Other frauds and lies by the Truthers are too numerous to mention here, but are well-documented with examples such as the best-selling author Meyessan deliberately mis-quoting eye-witnesses on the airliner crash into the Pentagon -- nobody ever said it "was a cruise missile" but rather that the airliner came in "like a cruise missile", deliberately being aimed at the Pentagon, and not some accidental crash. And contrary to his loud claims, there was plenty of aircraft debris all around the Pentagon lawn, and inside the destroyed parts of the building. It was repeatedly photographed and identified, traced back to the specific airliner which crashed, with the information posted to numerous internet sites. If you haven't seen those photos, you owe it to yourself to do so, as perhaps more than anything those photos show the outrageous lying by the Truthers. As to the other subjects mentioned by your friend, specifically the black-box flight recorders and other things, the homepage for this debunking911.com website has a useful search function, which brings up multiple links addressing most every question you might have -- and by my knowledge, at least two of the flight recorders were recovered. Specifically from the Popular Mechanic's debunking book (see the links) there are photographs of the Twin Tower metal framework buckling and bending, glowing red-hot from the interior flames just prior to the collapse, and, and, and, and, and. Virtually all the strung-together outrageous assertions of your "very competent" friend lack a factual foundation, and if there is any "smell" it is of his own ignorant fanaticism.
He doesn't say it outright, but his ten malicious accusations and questions suggest he believes, as most Truthers do, that "Bush did it" (or maybe Mossad?). He also repeats the incredible nonsense claim that OBL was "a CIA agent". Do you really believe that? How different is that from the claim that all our top political leaders and UN officials are "shape-shifting reptilian space aliens?" Not much. The CIA and FBI bungled many things regarding 911, as has the Bush administration and the Clinton administration before it -- on that, we could all make a list. But bungling, muddle and incompetence are not evidence for conspiracy-to-murder. The fact is, OBL was funding terror attacks against American targets over many years, out of his own substantial pockets, going back many years before 9-11, denouncing the "evil Jews and Americans" in typical Islamo-fascist words, with death-fatwas for many years, planting bombs and killing many people, not only Americans. The major policy shift implemented by the Bush administration after 9-11 was to no longer treat terror attacks as criminal actions using INTERPOL and only the FBI to hunt down individual perpetrators. The new policy properly identified such mass-terrorism as Acts of War, perpetrated against America by individual terrorists and terror groups, but also by terror-sponsoring nations who give them funding, sanctuary and logistical support. One can agree or disagree with that policy shift, but disagreement with it is no license to distort the facts about 9-11, or to white-wash the permanent Islamofascist Jihad-war of conquest against the entire world, ongoing now for nearly 1400 years.
Your friend's response is typical of so many things these days, where people simply refuse to look at anything which would undermine their favorite political position and world-view -- which as we know from Wilhelm Reich is mostly shaped by pent-up emotions. We see it in religious fanatics, but also in political fanatics and atheists. Nobody is immune as the emotions shape our thinking process, either well or poorly depending upon our emotional condition. From the findings of Reich, we can view political extremism with the same functional understanding as we view religious extremism, and both are properly viewed by ordinary people with suspicion. The 9-11 "truth squads" are especially exemplary of this problem, and are inhabited in their inner sanctums by hordes of America-haters, Jew-haters, Muslim-apologists, Ultra-leftists, Right-wing populists, etc.
My experience is, no matter how often and substantially one may refute the talking-points of the 9-11 Truthers, they simply ignore what you say, repeat the original accusation like a broken record, and then divert attention to a new accusation without addressing the first thing which was just rebutted. That, more than anything, indicates the basically suppressed emotional underpinnings of their position.

Fascinating Science Links
These various items were recently dusted off from within my inbox, definitely worth to take a look:
1) Spaceweather.com website recently posted some video clips to several "Gigantic Jets" -- unusual light phenomenon bursting forth from the tops of thunderclouds.

2) Also of interest is how these "gigantic jets" were videotaped. It is done using a standard ultra-low-light videocamera such as one might get from Supercircuits:

Look for their "Day/Night" or "4th Generation Cameras" which are sensitive across the visible and IR, and can render a good image down to 0.01 lux. Next, the camera is pointed into the night sky and hooked to your computer, which silently monitors the background. This is accomplished using a new class of software (as from Sonota Company http://www.sonotaco.com/e_index.html) meant to allow for automatic capture of moving night-time low-light aerial phenomenon. With such a setup, one can capture things such as these classic thunderstorm "sprites", "gigantic jets", meteors, flocks of birds, satellites, or even UFOs.
3) And while you are at it, an excellent website dealing with the whole class of unusual light anomalies is http://www.earthlights.org, or the International Earthlight Alliance run by Dr. Marsh Adams. If you've ever seen wierd photos and wonder what they represent or if they could have been faked, or what is a genuine anomaly, this is a good place to start.
4) Finally, even if you don't speak German, these YouTube "Banned Doku About Genetic Research" in two parts are a fascinating must -- documentaries of work done on electrical fields and biological systems. Living forms from fish embryos to plant seedlings are made to become more vigorous and lively, in defiance of standard genetics, by simple exposure to strong electrical fields. The work was sponsored by the CIBA-GEIGY corporation, which sells chemical pesticides and growth hormones for similar purposes. When their experiments on electrical fields began to show benefits and strong positive reactions, the research program was deliberately ended. The German documentary interviews several of the key scientists who obviously were upset. Suggest to review them soon, as one does not know how long they will remain on YouTube.

I've maintained for years that the leadership of this "movement" was
composed of unreformed ultra-leftist America-haters, closeted
neo-Nazi populist types, friends of Islamo-fascists, Jew-haters and
other assortments who are quite happy to deceive by outright lying,
or lies of omission. They've been caught at it repeatedly, but get
away with it because their deception resonates with those who already
are on the America-hating, Muslim-apologizing bandwagon for other
reasons. Don't expect the average fanatic who finds their message
agreeable to worry about bothersome things, such as facts.

Back In the Saddle Again....

Dear OBRL-News and OBRL-Quarterly Subscribers
Over the last months, intensive work at OBRL has prevented the usual
email postings and Newsletters. The reasons are simple. I was busy,
busy, busy as a worker-bee on a spring day!
Firstly at OBRL there is a major on-going effort to convert my many
years of 35mm photo slides and VHS/Hi8 videotapes into digital
formats. Other video archive materials on the History of Orgonomy as
donated to the lab in U-matic are also still in the pipeline for
digital transfer and preservation. The job still is not done, but
most of my 35mm slides as often shown during lectures have been so
converted and put into PowerPoint formats.
Additionally, experimental work on To-T and orgone-charged GM
apparatus has continued without a break, over many months. Attention
was also turned to various OBRL educational projects and to my
lectures at two notable international conferences.
Our summer Independent Study seminar went well, and was attended by
around 10 persons. Later, I presented a lecture on my CORE research
(cloudbusting) to the Wilhelm Reich Conference organized by the
Wilhelm Reich Museum in Rangeley, Maine. Shortly afterward, another
conference organized by Peter Jones of CORE (Centre for Orgonomic
Research and Education) was held in Chipping, Lancashire, UK, along
with the weekend event on "New Research In Orgonomy", with more
presentations to a gathering of British and other Europeans
interested in Reich. Lots of public discussions and private
organizational meetings transpired, all geared towards sharing of
vital information, improved long-term development of orgonomic
research, and outreach to the scientific community and larger public.
The presentations given at these conferences by many different
speakers were unique and powerful, with excellent verifications and
applications of Reich's many discoveries: On clinical
orgone-therapeutic work, orgonomic midwifery, my Saharasia findings,
microscopical bion research, the cancer biopathy and orgone
accumulator therapy, agricultural applications of orgone energy, new
methods for orgone energy detection, orgone physics demonstrations,
and CORE research. The Wilhelm Reich Museum has already produced
some email Newsletters describing their events. For the UK event,
and specifically the "New Research in Orgonomy" section, a booklet of
Abstracts is now available as a downloadable PDF, here:

It is hoped that sometime in the near future, a Proceedings will
become available for the full version of these papers, including
those presented at the 2005 "New Research" conference held at the
OBRL Greensprings Center. Future announcements will address that
possibility. The next "New Research in Orgonomy" conference will
take place two years henceforth, in 2009. z
Thanks to all who participated in the OBRL summer program, the Reich
conferences in Rangeley and Chipping, and especially to Kevin Hinchey
and Peter Jones for their intensive organizational efforts, and kind
invitations to speak. A more detailed accounting of these events
